my steps to reach you.

Kemarin, Selasa, 26 Oktober 2010 turun hujan… siang hari

hujan deras.. tiba-tiba aku ingin main hujan..

aku pergi keluar, dengan payung berjalan pelan di jalanan depan rumah..
kurasakan air hujan membasahai bagian bawah rokku..
jemariku bermain dengan rintiknya..
kakiku berkecipak dengan genangan dan guyuran pancuran..
menyenangkan..

sejenak kupandang langit, masih kelabu..

kuterbarkan pandanganku, dimana-mana tali temali hujan berjuntaian..
saling silang..
kulihat dedaunan dan ranting mengangguk-angguk tertimpa butiran hujan yang jumlahnya tak terhingga..

sejenak rasanya waktu berhenti.. otakku memutar memorinya..

tentang hujan dan pohon
tentang rahasia hati..
tentang keajaiban..
tentang rencana besar yang kunanti..

Today I combine my earth dress with a chocolate cardigan..
and with my favorite vintage bag, I'm ready to go!
I love this cardigan. It has a cute rose button.. :)

About a month ago I went to my subscription thrift store . Who knows there is a unique vintage clothing. The hunt begins! After spinning and flipping through every shirt in there, finally I found some interesting pieces of clothing!
here they are!
A jacket made of green colored jeans and a sleeveless blouse with a unique motif! Then a blouse of a unique T-shirt material with a shiny material. And once again floral blouse. I do not know how much I love floral . >. <
Now they became my new vintage collection! Welcome to my closet!

This jacket is so unique. I have to replace the buttons with new buttons, because the original buttons broken. people ask me where I get this jacket and they want it. :P

I love the floral pattern on this blouse. So vintage!

There is so many online vintage store.. and they offer a variety of interesting clothing. but sometimes we collide with doubt because they can not see things directly. but it sometimes also hampered by the cost of shipping is quite expensive.

But there's the offline alternative which is the cheapest-possible-close-to-free vintage fashion you can get!

Flea markets and yard sales are excellent sources for old vintage clothing at low prices.
Make sure to get there early in the morning (preferably right before they open) and get your hands on the most popular vintage items. Once they're gone, they are gone. It's about getting there first.

And you can also stop by your local thrift store. There you can find shirts, skirts, jewelry etc. for just a couple of bucks. Examples are Goodwill, charity shops.

Or if  you're broke, you still can got something closer to home. Dive inside your mother's closet. You would never believe how many beautiful earrings I found in my mom's jewelry box. She inherited most of them from my grandma. That's two flies in one smack!
If you buy vintage clothes offline you have the chance to inspect the garments closely and check if everything's ok. You can also try it on to be sure.

There are many reasons, unique style being one of them. If you're not convinced here are my top points:

  •  Women’s vintage clothing is a green option. Ok, so saving the nature might not be the first thing on your mind when you're looking for vintage, but hey, you're wearing something original while saving our earth!
  •   Vintage clothes has unusual fabrics and tailoring. The pieces have patterns and details that you often can't see in stores today. That's a total wow-factor when it comes to fashion! So unique!
  •   It's not like the cookie-cutter clothes you see in our stores today. Vintage is unique and available in limited edition, and that prevents your style from becoming mainstream.
  •  Vintage fashion has something for everyone. You can find something in vintage fashion that suits your personal style. Fashion today has been recycled from all kinds of different eras -- dramatic Art Deco 20's-30's, tailored 40's-50's, flowy hippie 60's-70's, rock & urban period 80's -- so really. There's something for everyone!
  •  Vintage clothing never goes out of style. (Ok, I'm not talking about the really, reaaaally old vintage, like Victorian, frilly pieces).

Vintage is hip. It's timeless. It's stylish.
But only if you wear it right ;) You'll have to adapt to our modern society, so you might want to mix vintage with staples to balance the overall look.
